Fliid/McKenzie ¦ Vinterjazz in Union

Fliid/McKenzie is a newly formed Nordic duo featuring Adine Fliid (vocals) and Adam McKenzie (cello).

Their sound blends elements of pop, folk, blues, and classical music—woven together by a distinctly Nordic atmosphere that shapes their creative identity.

Their debutalbum Svaleheim features original compositions for voice, cello, guitar, and double bass, offering listeners a richblend of poetic depth and acoustic warmth. Sung in Norwegian, the songs explore themes of myth, memory, landscape, heritage and belonging.

Adine Fliid and Adam McKenzie both carry mixed heritage - Norwegian/Danish and Australian/Danish respectively - and explore this cultural duality through music and storytelling. With Svaleheim, the duo turns their gaze toward the Nordic landscape, weaving together original compositions and reflections on the deep connection between people and place.

Adine Fliid’s Norwegian textual universe unfolds in evocative and deeply personal narratives. Her voice - at once soft, lyrical, and raw - resonates with emotional clarity. Vinterjazz in Union

The concert program in Union is part of the nationwide music festival Vinterjazz on 30 January - 28 February 2026. In Union, we invite you to a range of exciting jazz concerts, each of which in their own way reflects Union's eclectic cultural programme. In other words, you should not expect traditional jazz, but rather a journey to the global roots of jazz.
