Union Residency: NOMADAS
An echo is not a repetition. It is a sound that has travelled, bounced off something real, and returned changed.
Larie and PuNTaL (David Nicolás Abad) are nomadic artists — their music shaped by displacement, by moving between cultures, languages and sonic territories. When two signals like these meet in the same space, something happens that neither could produce alone. In an electrical system, this is called a derivation: a new branch opens without interrupting either circuit.
For four days at UNION, both artists share space, listening and instruments. No predetermined outcome. Just the process of finding where their echoes meet — and what current that contact generates.
On June 4th, the new branch becomes visible.
Larie (BR)
Larie flows between the organicity of MPB, electronic pop and their own experimental
vibes. Composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and music producer, they are one of
the foremost exponents of new Brazilian contemporary music — having performed at
Ronnie Scott’s in London and SummerStage in New York.
PuNTaL (ES)
PuNTaL (David Nicolás Abad) is a musician and audiovisual artist working in the
experimental field, where the electronic and the organic are constantly intertwined —
where live improvisation meets pre-recorded material, and visuals are also
performed and improvised in real time.
No predetermined outcome. No hierarchy. Just the process of finding where their
electricity meets — and what happens when they allow it.
Union Residency
Union Residency is a focused, process-driven program bringing together artists working across sound, systems, and experimental practices. It creates a temporary framework for exchange—where ideas are tested, methods are shared, and new directions can emerge through proximity and dialogue.
Rather than emphasizing finished works, the residency prioritizes exploration: signals in progress, unfinished structures, and evolving collaborations. Participants engage in a collective environment that supports risk, iteration, and cross-disciplinary thinking.
The program culminates in a public outcome, offering a glimpse into these processes—not as conclusions, but as open transmissions from within the residency itself.
