Candombe DK presents: Piano a Piano

Celebrated during December — the month of Candombe — the concert explores rhythm, improvisation, and contemporary genres such as jazz, honoring Afro-Uruguayan tradition while opening new creative paths through modern harmony and spontaneous interaction.

Rooted in Afro-Uruguayan Candombe and expanded through jazz language and urban influences, the duo highlights the essence of dialogue: rhythm and harmony meeting on equal ground. 

About candombe

Candombe is a South American cultural manifestation, originally from Montevideo, Uruguay, related primarily to drumming. It has a significant role in the culture of the Río de la Plata in the last two hundred years, with Montevideo candombe being recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
