Copenhagen’s English Improv CageMatch #5

An Improvised theatre competition where teams go head-to-head to win the ultimate prize! Bragging rights.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵?

An improv CageMatch is a way for teams to compete against each other in front of a live audience.

The teams will be assigned a score for each round by a combination of a panel and the audience vote. Improv CageMatches are usually frequent competitions where the winner gets automatic admission to the next match if they so desire.

There are Improv CageMatches all over the world and in almost every theatre across North America, so it was about time one came to Copenhagen! This is (now) an annual event in its third iteration.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲?
There is a deep and rich history of Danish speaking improv in Denmark and competitions such as the Danish DM.

However, it is only recently that the English speaking Improv community has began growing as large and as quickly as it is now. The CageMatch is intended to bring together the various scattered English speaking improv communities across Denmark and showcase the various talents through friendly competition.

Because of this purpose, I encourage teams to be created for the competition and to experiment with new team members or splitting up existing groups for new combinations of performers!

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀?

The first match will have 4 teams! Each team gets to play at least once, and the team with the most points get to do one more show against the reigning champions for the title of the night.

Below is information for people applying to perform

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗯𝗲?
The teams can be between 2-5 people.

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗯𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟭 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺?
No. We have decided that because of possible conflict of interest of being on several teams, individual members can only apply and be on one team for the competition.
