Serendipity - Theatre games and collage workshop
Rooted in the notion of serendipity, the art of making fortunate, unexpected discoveries while seeking something else, this workshop offers a space to let go of control in a world of predictable routines, be surprised, and rediscover authenticity.
During this journey, we propose to address basic notions of theatrical dynamics and games that allow us to use the body as raw material for the creative process of a collage.
We'll dive with the imagination: establish connections, intuit, assemble and disassemble ideas, movements, sensory exploration, situations, cut and paste, use ingenuity… and throw away preconceived ideas to get surprised with a new proposal.
The journey outline
Theatrical games
Free your body and awaken your creativity through movement and improvisation, led by Malena.—No scripts, no score, just your body and boundless imagination, unlocking through voice, movement, and laughter.
Sensory diving
With eyes gently veiled, you’ll drift on a soundscape, touching, tasting, and inhaling textures and aromas. Here, curiosity reigns: feeling your senses bloom as you surrender to the unexpected.
Collage alchemy
Express your discoveries through the composition of an analog collage with Catalina, transforming emotions and sensations into visual art. Let fragments of magazines become portals to the serendipitous discoveries you’ve made.
Who can join?
Anyone over 18 who wants to reconnect with their senses, move freely, and create lasting memories through presence and creativity. No previous experience in theater, sensory practices, or art is needed.
What to bring
Just your open heart and presence! Comfortable clothes for moving and sweating. All materials will be provided.
Important: The workshop is done barefoot on a clean, smooth floor.
About the facilitators
Malena is an actress and teacher with a diverse background in the performing arts, blending theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Her artistic practice focuses on facilitating theatrical games for adults, creating playful spaces for creative exploration, expression, and connection. Drawing on dance training and a range of movement techniques alongside theatrical and improvisational methods, Malena helps participants rediscover their imagination, enhance body awareness, and engage in group dynamics through play. She believes theatre is a powerful tool for both artistic and personal growth.
Catalina is an analog collage artist and occupational therapist who combines sensory exploration, creativity, and transformation. Her work, explores how sensory experiences shape our perceptions and relationships. Through collage, Catalina creates a space to translate emotions, thoughts, and imagination into visual form, encouraging personal and collective exploration through each participant’s unique sensory language.
We can’t wait to share this journey together and let our inner child play for a while!
