I am a local artist here in Copenhagen, however I am originally from the US.
I am both a painter and a textile artist. I intertwine my love for textiles and drawing, by creating both fabric installations and portraiture.
Human beings are beautiful and complicated, and I love to portray the raw layers of humanity within them. Not only do I find people and their relationships intoxicating, but I also find the human body the most intricate and beautiful art form to draw.
Experimenting with color is something that is very important to me in my work. I find that it not only challenges me as an artist, but that color challenges my work itself, by telling a story of its own.
My love of textiles comes from my background in Fashion Design with Knitwear, where I studied at Central Saint Martins in London, England.
Through installation I can incorporate the beauty of fabric and color, while transforming and creating a space. Together with these two practices, I aim to tell a story, provoke thought, and inspire vulnerability.
